  7. THANK YOU FOR BUYING THIS CD-ROM.

  9. This CD-ROM includes a huge collection of NETWARE programs,
  10. source codes, drivers, info and patches.  There are over 600 
  11. Megabytes of data with over 10,000 files and 1,280 directories. 
  12.              
  13. Due to the diversity of programs and the complexity of these 
  14. topics, it is difficult to write a front-end that will take 
  15. care of everything.  We have settled on a combination of a 
  16. DOS and Windows-based viewer and program launcher for this CD.  
  17. The idea is to let you to view the documentation on the program, 
  18. if you like it, you simply copy it to your hard disk, or launch 
  19. the program, or do nothing.
  20.  
  21. We have tried our best to let you test-run programs directly 
  22. from the the CD-ROM without hard disk installation.  Some 
  23. programs run fine on CD-ROM as long as NO new data are added
  24. or created.  You will get an error message when trying 
  25. to save new data onto the CD-ROM (a read-only media).  This 
  26. problem will go away when the program is installed into 
  27. your hard disk.

  29. Some of the programs and data on this CD-ROM are copyrighted
  30. materials intended for the private uses of legitimate owners 
  31. of Netware and other related hardware.  They are included
  32. here FREE OF CHARGE and are for the convenience of these
  33. owners.

  35. We have made your test-run as easy as possible and have 
  36. automated most hard disk installation and deletion process.
  37. We hope you will like this feature.

  39. For your convenience, you may want to print out the "TABLE OF
  40. CONENTS", so that you have an idea of what is available.
  41.  
  42. After you have copied the programs to your hard disk, you 
  43. may want to exit the viewer, or if under WIN'95, simply run 
  44. the loader program of your choice to try the new programs.
  45.  
  46. CW File Wizard, the program viewer and launcher, is special 
  47. written for this CD-ROM. It is easy to use and powerful.
  48.  
  49. CW File Wizard has been tested under WINDOWS '95 and run fine.
  50.  
  51. Depends on your system, you may need at least 580K RAM 
  52. to run the CW File Wizard under the main menu.  If 
  53. you get "insufficient memory" message, simply get out 
  54. of Windows and the main menu.
  55.     Then type: NSL   <ENTER>  
  56. to run the CW File Wizard directly from Windows.  
  57.  
  58. See TROUBLE-SHOOTING section for more help if you still 
  59. have problems.

  61. No installation is needed if you use our Windows-based CW 
  62. File Wizard. It also does not install any icon or program 
  63. group in your Windows desktop either.  Most people like this 
  64. low profile feature.  You may, however, install a program 
  65. group in your Windows.
  66.  
  67. CW File Wizard lets you see any text file (.DOC, .TXT, 
  68. or .ASC) and ZIP file.  It lets you unzip file to the directory 
  69. of your choice. (NOTE: Most programs are unzipped for your  
  70. convenience).

  72. To start browsing, simply click on the any directory that you 
  73. want to examine.  Then you will see a list of sub-directories.  
  74. Click on any subdirectory will give you a list of file names.
  75. Click on any text or document file for descriptions of the programs.  
  76. A good place to start is to click on the .DIZ file if available.  
  77. .DIZ file lists a concise description of the program.  Click on 
  78. any .EXE or .BAT file  will test run the program.  Click on any 
  79. .ZIP file will let you "see" inside the content of the compressed 
  80. file.  You can also unzip the ZIP file to your hard drive by 
  81. clicking on the copy to hard disk button.

  83. Some programs may not run if its files has an "R" attribute, 
  84. especially the data files that most family tree programs create.
  85. You will have "path/access error" if your data files are flagged
  86. with the "R" attribute.
  87.  
  88. ALL files on CD-ROM is flagged "R" to prevent your PC from
  89. writing on the CD-ROM. This "R" attribute will stay with the 
  90. file even though you copy the file into your hard disk. 
  91. To remove this attribute, log into the subdirectory and 
  92.      type: ATTRIB *.* -r     < ENTER >
  93. If you miss this step, you may get "path/file access" errors.

  97. INSTALLATION
  98. ==============

  100. We assume Windows is in your DOS path and that you will use 
  101. CW File Wizard.  
  102.  
  103. Simply type GO after logging on your CD-ROM drive to launch
  104. the installation menu.
  105.  
  106. If you want to by-pass the installation menu.  Simply do the 
  107. following:
  108.  
  109. 1. If you are outside WINDOWS, simply type:  
  110. D:\NSL   <ENTER>       for the default CW File Wizard
  111. -- where "D" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  112.  
  113. 2. If you are inside WINDOWS, click on FILE, then RUN, then type: 
  114. D:\NET       then click "OK"
  115. -- where "D" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  116.  
  117. 3. If you have logged in the CD-ROM drive and have NOT logged in
  118. WINDOWS, simply type:
  119.      NSL          <ENTER>  
  120.  
  121.

  123. HOW TO USE CW FILE WIZARD
  124. ================================
  125. We have included a self-running tutorial demonstrating the
  126. operation of CW File Wizard.
  127.  
  128. The following steps for operating the CW File Wizard are 
  129. suggestions only.  You can develop your own ways.
  130.  
  131. We have included two versions of CW File Wizard: the regular
  132. version and the automatic version.  The regular version is 
  133. totally controlled by the user in regard to which file to 
  134. look at.  The auto version automatically display any text
  135. file in the directory without your input.
  136.  
  137. After loading CW File Wizard, Click on any sub-directory, 
  138. you may see another list of sub-directories.  Click on any 
  139. one of the directory will show you another list of sub-directories
  140. or a list of file names.  
  141.  
  142. To get an idea of the contents of the program, search for 
  143. files with the following extensions: 
  144.    FILENAME.TXT
  145.    FILENAME.DOC
  146.    FILENAME.MAN
  147.    FILE.DIZ      (the first one to "click" if available)
  148.    README.DOC
  149.    README.1ST
  150.    READ.ME
  151.    MANUAL.DOC
  152.    MANUAL.TXT

  154. You should get information on how to use or launch the program.
  155. CW File Wizard lets you print out any text file on the screen.
  156. You may also click on the "FULL SCREEN VIEW" button if you want
  157. to read the text file in page-mode. 
  158.  
  159. Files with .WRI (Windows Write files) and .HLP (WINHELP file format)
  160. will automatically activate Windows WRITE or WINHELP to let you 
  161. see the contents of the files.

  163. Microsoft Word 6.0 files also have .DOC extension.  Some files in
  164. this collection are in WORD format.  If you use CW File Wizard to 
  165. see any .DOC file and see nothing, that file  must be a WORD file.  
  166. You need Microsoft Word or WORD Viewer to see these files.  A copy 
  167. of Microsoft WORD runtime is included free of charge in the 
  168. WORDVIEW directory, simply double-click on the WORDVIEW.EXE to run 
  169. this viewer directly from CD-ROM, no installation is needed.

  171. To launch or test-run a program, look for files with the
  172. following extensions and double-click the file.
  173.    FILENAME.BAT         (batch file)
  174.    FILENAME.EXE         (executable files)
  175.    FILENAME.COM         (compiled file, executable)
  176.  
  177. Some programs, especially the ones that write temporary files,
  178. scores, or records, will not run from the CD-ROM (read-only media).
  179. Your computer may freeze, hangs, or gives out error messages
  180. like "path not found" or "I/O errors".  Simply copy programs to
  181. your hard disk and re-run program.  Refer to TROUBLE-SHOOTING
  182. section if you have more questions.

  184. To look at the contents of a ZIP file (compressed file), simply
  185. click on it and a Windows of its file list pops up.  You can
  186. view any text files with CW File Viewer. But you cannot 
  187. launch any programs since they have not yet been decompressed.  
  188. You can copy the directory to hard disk and launch program 
  189. from there.
  190.  
  191. To switch to different directory, simply click on any directory
  192. that you want to see on the directory tree.  Then click on  
  193. any files that you want to see or launch.

  195. COMMAND SUMMARY FOR CW FILE WIZARD
  196. ===================================
  197.     Single-click any directory to get inside next level of directory
  198.                  or inside the subdirectory.
  199.     Single-click on any NON-executable file (.doc, .txt, .asc, etc.)
  200.                  will display the contents of the file.
  201.     Double-click any EXECUTABLE file (.EXE, .COM, .BAT) will run
  202.                  that particular program.

  207. ==========
  208. Some of the programs on this CD-ROM are SHAREWARE, meaning that
  209. you are required to register or pay for a program after a trial
  210. period of 7- 45 days (varies from publisher to publisher).
  211. Upon registration, you may get printed manuals, updated versions
  212. and technical support.  Shareware is different from commercial 
  213. software ONLY in the distribution method.  Shareware authors 
  214. get paid ONLY when you register.  They do not get compensation
  215. from the price that you paid for this CD-ROM, which only covers
  216. distribution and manufacturing costs.  Please register your 
  217. program if you use it beyond the trial period.
